Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

1.....2.....3..... DRAW! (Not to worry, we were supervised)

Last weekend, the Gore/Warf/Sturdivant clan had a super fun weekend.  With weapons.  Real ones.  With the recent crime that seems to flood the news more and more every day (and his two precious daughters living and working in Jackson), Dad thought it'd be a great idea to have his entire family (sans kids, of course) certified in how to carry/use a handgun.  We had looked forward to this weekend for months, and I must say the weekend lived up to our expectations.

Delta Defense Training ((HERE) hosted the course which included 5 hours of classroom (interactive!) time and about 10 hours of target/situational shooting.  Lee Wall and Hal Williams did an excellent job instructing in firearm basics and defense - and taught several invaluable 'pearls' or gold nuggets of information about self-awareness in this day in time.

GG was a natural!

Mimi will shoot me for this (NO pun intended. Wink. And Smile.), but she was a pretty darn good shot.

It's all about the grip. (Mine was wrong here.)

Achmed:  "I kill you."

Another 'nugget':  Did you know it is possible to use 9mm handgun to hit target over 100 yards away?  Yep. Done it.

We fired mostly 9mm pistols, but also 'played' around with 40s, 45s, 380s, and semi-automatic rifles...

"Go ahead. Make my day."

"Okay Bruce, I'm ready to smile now." - Grace

15 hours, 6 quirky folks, 2 instructors, 8 semi-automatic pistols, over 3,000 rounds of ammo = one fun, exhausted crew.

Don't mess with us!
