Easter 2014. Glorious Day.

We woke up early to get dressed for church and the Easter Bunny had stopped by to fill up Silas and Avery's buckets - they were thrilled.

Be still my heart.  I think it is going to burst.

Would y'all stop growing up so fast, please?

I love these pics.  Props to Bruce for the excellent candid shots.

We had a wonderful morning at church, then met the family at the Fairview for brunch.

Avery, ahem Princess, carried her dress everywhere she went.

I love this picture.  Is he really 3 1/2??

Another favorite.  Looks like they're talking politics.

Silas' hungry face:

The boy and his chocolate:  (I had to replace the napkin in his neck 3 times, and the only one left for #3 was pink…)

Easter 2014

Mimi, Papaw, and their 4 grands:

And Garnett's first Easter.

We headed over the the Sturdivant's house for the afternoon and Mimi brought little "happies" for the kids.  They love their new clothes:-)

We enjoyed a great afternoon in the backyard - what a beautiful day!

Silas and his bubble gun.  Watch out!

Mimi and Papaw picked Silas and Avery up from our church nursery that morning after church - when Silas saw Papaw, he held his tie up and said "Look Papaw, I have a tie like you!"  Love!

Micajah and Grace have spent several weeks working on the coolest, neatest, most awesome playhouse you've ever seen.  We spent just about all afternoon in it.

And they "took our order" over and over and over… these kids are no stranger to a drive thru…

And my favorite.  Their sweet blessing before their picnic supper in the playhouse.  We are so blessed.  Glorious Day.

New and exciting things ahead:  Truth is, I've been behind on the blog for several reasons… been busy on two new projects to be revealed very soon!  I can't wait to share.  Stay tuned.

Eggstravaganza 2014

We look forward to this event every year!  When we pulled up, there was no turning back for Silas and Avery… well, not enough to hold them back, anyway.

The big slides were a new addition and a bit hit this year.  The Meck's are so gracious to host over 200 people in their backyard for the annual Eggstravaganza.

Whee!

We played and ate, then all went to the front yard where a few FBCJ moms did an amazing job with a little skit and presentation of the Gospel.  We are so thankful for our lay leaders at our church!

While we were in the front yard, the dads hid at least a thousand eggs.  (Well, some were hidden… some dads need to work on their hiding abilities… kidding, this was the "young kids" part. The "big kids" searched beyond the gate)

Waiting patiently …

And they're off!

Silas and his Braveheart yell.

Still yelling.  We Warfs take egg hunting seriously.

Proud of his loot.

Avery did her share of hunting too.

My big boy… growing too fast.

Our attempt at a family picture.

Silas found a spot on the hammock to relax (or so it seems…)

But he is actually keeping someone else from getting on.  And that's how the story goes sometimes.

Soccer

I cannot believe Silas and Avery are old enough to be playing soccer.  They were super pumped to get their first official soccer shoes (or exercise shoes, as Avery calls them)… every Monday we have practice and every Tuesday we have a game until early May.  These two are excited to get in the car and get their soccer/exercise shoes on!

Our friends, Jack and Hunter are on our team too, which is super fun.  Yes, I believe there is a diva below… see if you can pick her out.

My loves!

My favorite soccer story so far:  Silas is running hard trying to get the ball from the 'mob' of three year olds running around (inside and outside the boundary lines).  There was a point in time when it was his turn to kick the ball toward their side of the field… I saw him think through the process: Okay, finally my turn.  I am supposed to kick this ball toward our goal. But those kids are running towards me. If I kick the ball, they'll take it from me…  And suddenly he positioned himself with one foot in front of the ball and one foot behind, his trunk turned almost sideways.  He threw up his hand with his palm facing the 'mob' and with his game face on he yelled with all he had (talking loudly in a group is a big thing for Silas-man), "STOP".   It was hilarious.  And guess what?  The mob stopped.  That's my buddy.

Upward Soccer is a great program and begins teaching kids sports fundamentals while also teaching about Christ and loving others.  We have a devotional time after each game and each player gets a star for something they did well during the game.

And I love this one - Avery is congratulating Silas (or pushing him, who knows).  But I'm fairly certain she was excited for him :-)
