Ballet

Grace and I took our princesses to see the Nutcracker at Thalia Mara - they were soooo excited and attune to the dancers, mimicking they're every move.  I think dance lessons are in order soon!  We are so glad our cousins live so close.  Avery has started saying "Nel-nor is my cousin. She's my friend. She loves me".  So cute!

Disney on Ice

Silas and Avery have had NO trouble coming up with things for their Christmas lists (wink!).  We had so much fun with the Toys R Us Wish Books reminiscent of the Sears Wish Book of my childhood days… we grabbed pens and took a catalog each, circling everything they wanted (there was no item uncircled).

Had to throw in this pic of my little handsome dude!  He is rocking that bow tie!!

On our way to Disney on Ice Princesses and Heroes… Avery wanted to dress as princess Ariel and Silas said he was an undercover hero.

These three were beside themselves - soooo excited!

No caption needed here:

Even little buddy was a little starstruck. He was mesmerized by the changing of the sets and the pulley system coming from the ceiling.

We MUST begin planning our first Disney vacation SOON.

Birthday Parties… Christmas lists… Saturdays

Silas would like Santa to know what he wants for Christmas:

This has been birthday party season!  All their little friends seem to have birthdays in September, October, and November.  It is so fun to see them and how much they love their friends!  Here we are at Ella's party… the kids are still talking about this one.

Oh yes she did. Ella had ponies and petting animals at her house!

Of course, they get in the car (after peeling them away 2 hours later) saying "my want horsies for Christmas"… great.

They also loved the chickens, rabbits, goats - so fun!  The kids weren't the least bit timid… the animals, on the other hand…. well…. I'm sure they make animal prozac, right?

We take turns on Sunday mornings riding with Mommy or Daddy (divide and conquer. we decided when they were tiny babies that this was the best way to make it to church:-).  While Silas has always loved Mr Tommy and his guitar and Mr David and the drums… Avery prefers to sit and sing!  Too cute.

Dapper dude!  He loves getting dressed up.

Saturday mornings at the Warf house.  Blessed beyond measure.

October 2013

What a fun season!  I love this pic of Mimi with all her grands!

I walked in the door the other day from work to this picture… three years old or teenagers??!!  Have mercy.

Ariel and Jake had a blast with all the Halloween festivities!  They had no problem staying in character…

Here is their precious 3 year old choir… all the girls… and Silas, er, Jake.

Trick or Treating with our fun neighbors!

And our other neighbors were so much fun answering their door as a penguin and a bee!  The kids were hilarious when they opened the door (after reminding them at several houses that the proper language is "Trick or Treat" NOT "I want my candy…")!

This dude carried his sword in his pants the whole night… and slept with it.  In his words, "I stop Wav-ery from tickling me."  Hmmm…. okay.

"Punkins"

Last weekend while Bruce was in Atlanta for the Catalyst Conference, Mimi went with us to Bull Bottom Farms .  My great friends from high school have opened this incredibly fun place on their farm with corn mazes (one for little kids and one for big kids (i.e., adults:-)),  big pumpkin patches, tractor rides, little animals and much more!  Check them out on facebook too.  These Warfs will certainly be going back soon!

Silas and Avery loved this 'corn' pit and would have stayed here for hours if we had let them.

Avery didn't have a shy bone in her little body with these animals.  She was immediate friends with the little horsey!

Silas decided the bunnies should be doing something other than napping. So he told them.  Or yelled at them... apparently only one of them listened.

These two were ALL over this farm.  (As were remnants in my car from playing in this dirt)  Actually, it was genius to place dirt in a steep pile.  Silas and Avery took turns getting a head start to run full speed in attempt to 'climb the hill'.  They were only able to make it about halfway up each time before sliding back down on their bellies... too funny! This went on for at least 30 minutes.

Brave Avery rode the little cow all by herself!

Then it was time for the BIG tractor trailor ride to pick out pumpkins!

Mimi makes everything more fun!!

We stopped at the pumpkin patch and deliberated over the perfect pumpkins... Silas found his!

What a fun day!!  This was the scene less than 5 minutes after we pulled out of the parking lot:

Daddy arrived home later that night and while we were eating supper, Silas and Avery were telling him (or Daddy-Bruce as Avery has now started calling him... hilarious. No clue where she got that) all about the pumpkins and tractors and Mimi.  We are trying to have them learn (and practice) that they must sit still in their chairs at the dinner table until we are finished eating... they usually both pester each other, touch each other, eat the other's food, etc..  After several stern verbal warnings, Avery replies, "But he's my best fri-yend".  What do you say to that??

"Betsey's Party"

Silas and Avery were honored to be in our wonderful friend’s wedding last weekend.  Betsey and Will got married in Oxford on Saturday and had the cutest bell ringers you’ve ever seen ;)  Silas and Avery had no idea what a wedding was but talked all week about “Betsey’s party”. This momma was more nervous for this than if she’d been giving a solo piano recital!  Crazy.

Silas wore his tux …..

And Avery in her beautiful dress (which ripped about 5 minutes after putting it on… thank goodness for hem tape!)…

This one cracks me up... Silas and all the ladies.  Notice his posturing.. and his facial expression:
(one day he'll appreciate this)

And they did wonderfully… just as we practiced!  In fact, Silas enjoyed his walk down the aisle so much that he turned around to do it again… I had to run grab him about 15 rows deep on the way back to start over…

We made it to the reception and these two “ferrets” (as Papaw affectionately calls them) swiftly weaved through hundreds of people to dance their tails off and eat too much “CAKE”.  The South End Zone was beautifully decorated and the stadium was lit (and the Ole Miss vs Alabama game playing on all the televisions) – what a fantastic reception!

Oh, and a fun aside:  Our sweet nanny, Elizabeth (Silas and Avery call her Sue-Sue) asked me about who was getting married… I told her and get this:  she stayed with the groom, Will, when he was a little boy!  Small world!!

Betsey’s Party was perfect!  Congrats to you guys!!
